In the Barcelona Declaration (1995), the Euro-Mediterranean Partners agreed on the establishment of a Euro-Mediterranean Free Trade Area in 2010. Together with EFTA this zone will include some 40 States and 600-800 million consumers.

The Mediterranean  Baltic Sea conference in Tampere1.-3. June 2008
 
In June 2008 Tampere is hosting a conference, which goal is to sort out the possible good projects concerning the Baltic Sea Mediterranean area. The conference is concentrating on three subjects: 
  • Innovation and high-tech
  • The universities and cooperation between companies
  • Culture

International lecturers at TAMK
The series of the international lecturers of the late winter is begun by the guests of Mr Anasse Bouhlal. In week, 9 the professor of the University of Ljubljana, Mr. Igor Jakomin will lecture on the subject “SCM - Slovenian Centers of Distribution”. In week,  11 the expert of the logistics from the Hasseltin university from Belgium, Mr Toni Fonteyn will lecture on the subject, "ERP-Systems".
